End of the Line

You know that game where you have your iPod pick a random song from your playlist and it's supposed to tell your fortune or something? At the gym this morning, my iPod and I were in harmonious synchronicity as it first chose "Lose Yourself" by Eminem, a song that always inspires me to toughen up and plow through whatever is bothering me, immediately followed by "End of the Line" by the Traveling Wilburys. Then it played the latter again! Randomly! I draw heavy meaning from that. That song was on my list of survival songs for grad school. It was on my delivery playlist for the hospital when I was pregnant. It makes me melt with relaxation every time. Spooky, eh? For those who don't know it, or just need a reminder, here are the lyrics. I'm too lazy to hook you up with a downloadable link.

(Well it's alright)
Ridin' around in the breeze.
If you live the life you please.
Doing the best you can.
As long as you lend a hand.
You can sit around and wait
for the phone to ring.
Waiting for someone to tell you everything.
Sit around and wonder what tomorrow will bring.
Maybe a diamond ring.
(Well it's alright)
Even if they say you're wrong.
Sometimes you've gotta be strong.
As long as you've got somewhere to lay.
Every day is just one day.
Maybe somewhere down the road a ways.
You'll think of me and wonder
where I am these days.
Maybe somewhere down the road
when someone plays,
Purple Haze.
(Well it's alright)
Even when push comes to shove.
If you got someone to love.
Everything will work out fine.
We're going to the end of the line.
Don't have to be ashamed of the
kind of car I drive.
I'm just glad to be here, happy to be alive.
It don't matter if you're by my
side. I'm satisfied.
(Well it's alright)
Even if you're old and grey.
You still got something to say.
Remember to live and let live.
The best you can do is forgive.
Ridin' around in the breeze.
If you live the life you please.
Even if the sun don't shine.
We're going to the end of the line!

Hope that brightens someone's day like it did mine.

I love that song. Love it. What a great tune with even better voices--and thanks for reminding me to stick it out 'til the end of the line!

Hope you got some answers of some kind yesterday, honey.
