Rompers, aprons, and totes, oh my!

Here is the pattern I'm using to make some rompers for my nephew, Jonah, for Christmas:

And here is the fabric I'm using in various combinations:

Upside-down dalmations!?!

And here is the fabric that will be used to make aprons (more Christmas presents, and maybe one for me!):

And I'm not quite sure yet what to do with this fabric...maybe a tote bag. I just really loved the brown one in particular (famous last words).

Scrubs

I had my first day of work at the new hospital job yesterday. I was so exhausted; I don't know if it's the steep learning curve, or the poor choice of shoes, or an antipathy toward work in general. Anyway, I got the new fancy clipboard I'm supposed to have, but now I need scrubs and am not sure where to get them. Anybody know where to buy scrubs in Tucson? I also thought about just making some, but I just missed the $1.99 pattern sale at JoAnn's and I'll be darned if I'm going to pay full price for a pattern that non-fun. On the other hand, it would be good general sewing practice on something that wouldn't really matter when I make the obligatory (for me) oodles of mistakes.

No luck still on the plant front. Trying to decide if I should breakdown and buy a container gardening book or just wing it. Maybe just a little succulent would be hard to kill. Hmmm...more thinking to do on this before I make a decision.

I haven't gotten beyond washing the fabric for the baby clothes and aprons I'm working on next. Maybe I'll take a pic of the fabrics and try to figure out how to post that later today. I'm off to iron!

Hello, World, etc.

After spending countless hours surfing from craft blogger to craft blogger, I've finally become thoroughly obsessed enough to start my own blog; although, I'm not yet sure if I'll actually share it with anyone I know.

I just finished graduate school and am starting a new job this summer. For now, I'll only be working a couple of days a week, so I am loving the thought of finally having the luxury to (start and) complete all the oodles of projects I've been saving the last three years for this promised time of freedom (and hubby will be happy to see my stash dwindle).

So I'm hoping having some place to ramble about my projects and show pics will keep me inspired to complete them. I'm also hoping to start developing the palest of green thumbs this summer. I'm a total novice gardener and would like to start modestly by maybe keeping a plant alive. My northeast roots are very unsure how to proceed in this hostile desert landscape, however, so we'll see how it goes.

Tomorrow is my first day at the new jobbie job, so wish me luck!
